Blog Post 2

Hey everyone,
With something like Sports Photography, sharing stories and pictures can be of great use. To learn, to awe, or to discuss photography are a few ways to get better at photography; to inspire ideas. Luckily, we’re in a world that has no shortage of sporting events and photographers that take photos at these sporting events, so this creates a lot of opportunity for growth and inspiration. Here are 5 sports blogs that I follow and why I recommend them.
#1. The first sports photography blog I follow and would recommend is “The Sports Photographers Blog” by Zamani Feelings. This blog hasn’t been updated for a few years, but it is an excellent reference for all things sports photography. There are instructions out the wazoo on how to do everything from recommended camera settings to instructions on how to edit your pictures. This blog has some excellent information and is indisposable for a photographer who needs some help here and there.
#2. The second blog I recommend is the “sports photography: How To” blog from Shutterbug. Shutterbug is one if top destinations for all things photography, so it should come as no surprise that they also have a sports photography blog section. This blog has hundreds of pictures and occasional discussion on sporting event photography. These beautiful pictures capture the incredible pace and ferocity of sports and inspire me to capture better photos. There are also, of course, more than a few tips and tricks articles that help expand any aspiring photographers’ repertoire.
#3. Thirdly, the Reddit sports photography blog is an excellent location for tips and feedback. On here, you’re able to post a photograph or series of photographs and discuss the pictures with other users. You can get quick feedback on your own pictures and give feedback for others. You’re able to view others photographs and learn from them as well.
#4. The Sports Photography blog on at-edge.com features a more personal approach to the athletes. Rather than focus on the activity or sport being played, this blog tends to focus on the athlete. Of course, there are photos of the action itself as well. This blog is great for learning how to capture portraits and presenting the athlete’s raw off field life. They feature articles and pictures from ESPN, The Wall-Street Journal, and others.
#5. Finally, Sports Photo 101 is an essential blog for learning to photograph sports. Much like #1 on my list, this blog focuses on the do’s and don’ts of sports photography. It also focuses on how to and what to do for certain events. It is an incredibly useful blog for developing an eye for the sports photograph and rounding out skills.
These blogs are exceptionally useful for learning and developing skills for taking sports photographs. They’re able to incite creativity. To see a picture that really stands out and to tell yourself “I have to try that!” Viewing other’s works help to expand a photographer’s skill-base and grow their brand. I would use these blogs as a frame of reference for growing my brand, as well.
